A Path to Freedom - Believing and Obeying God's Word to Promote Healing
As Christians, we are God’s children.

1.  Yet to all who received him (Jesus), to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God--children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God

2.  How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  I John 3:1

3.  For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.  I Peter 1:23

4.  If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.  What I am saying is that as long as the heir is a child, he is not different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate.  Galatians 3:29-4:1

In the natural, the son of a King does not operate as a ruler.  He must grow up so he can operate in his inheritance.  When we are born again, we come into God’s kingdom as spiritual babies, no matter how old we are in the natural.  Then we are expected to grow spiritually; but God wants us to grow spiritually, so He will help us do it.

5.  Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly--mere infants in Christ.  I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it.  Indeed, you are still not ready.  You are still worldly.  For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?  Are you not acting like mere men?  I Corinthians 3:1-3

6.  Brothers, stop thinking like children.  In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.  I Corinthians 14:20

7.  Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.  I Peter 2:2-3

8.  The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever--do not abandon the works of your hands.  Psalm 138:8

9.  In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again.  You need milk, not solid food!  Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.  But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.  Hebrews 5:12-14

God has plans for our lives, we just need to cooperate with Him in the work that He is doing in us.

10.  It was he (Jesus) who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.  From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.  Ephesians 4:11-16

11.  Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.  Philippians 1:6

12.  May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.  May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.  I Thessalonians 5:23-24

13.  For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

14.  I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  John 14:12

If we are supposed to have as our goal to do the things that Jesus did and even greater things, then we have some growing to do.   Spiritual growth is a continuous process.  We will never reach the end of all the possibilities.
